SIP Rear Shock Recall
I got this letter in the mail a few weeks back mentioning that a rear shock I had purchased from SIP is under recall. Mine apparently just misses the time-frame of the affected shocks. If anyone here has purchased one of these, check the time of purchase and serial code. http://www.sip-scootershop.c...

Yes indeed; I won a grant to research here at my university and so I stayed for the summer. That summer research then turned into my honours thesis and now I am busier than ever. I definitely missed our Sunday rides though. This will be my last year in university and so I will probably be back in Ed...

I had something similar with the Sprint a few years back. While commuting to work in the summer, the scoot would slow its idle at a stop and die after a few km. I would then throw in a new spark plug and that would normally fix the problem for another couple of km or, if I was lucky, a few days. I w...

Update: I had an extra external and internal choke cable around so I swapped it out. The cable travels much smoother now and the old outer cable had a very hard kink in it. The bad news: the little metal cable end of the cable decided to stay inside the frame, so I had to stick a naked external cabl...

I think there is too much friction between the hole for the knob and the choke plunger itself. I did grease the knob shaft (is that the right phrase?) and it helped for a few weeks. I got a research grant for the summer, so I'm planning on spending the warm months here. Really is a shame that I can'...

Choke Knob Ideas
So, I had another choke cable snap at the right-angle kink at the knob end. I have another kicking around but I'm thinking, this being the third time such an event has happened, to forgo the knob altogether and lead a longer cable out of the knob hole and make a loop to pull on. What do you guys thi...

Just an update, I tried to tighten up the bearing retainer nut and it was on solid. Now that I have a few larger sockets, I can try the main crown nut again. Not too worried and if it doesn't budge, I won't push it. On an aside, this is on sale: http://www.probikekit.ca/bicycle-tools-and-maintenance...

There is indeed a Princess Auto here. I have a few spare bearings that fit from my raid on the Top Gear basement, so I can always pop those in if it comes to that. Thanks John, I'll keep an eye on it. On an aside, another brake switch melted on me and another choke cable snapped. They love doing tha...

Loose Front Hub
Hey guys and gals, I've come to you from the land of sunshine for advice. I've noticed that my front hub (Vespa Sprint) moves a bit (few millimeters). It's noticeable when I'm idling and on the kickstand. Kind of a shuddering sound. I tried to tighten the big crown nut, the one with the splint, by t...
