I have always used standard shocks on my machines and have learned to grin and bear the resulting harsh ride. I finally broke down and bought a Bitubo race rear shock and Malossi (Paioli) front shock.
WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Smooth as butter and no need to pucker my nether regions when I see a bump ahead. Highly recommended and, brace yourself, frightfully expensive.
I still have to sort the rear ride height but that won't take long.
Now I just need to fit the HammerZombie and a long range tank of some sort and Orange Crushed is done.
