Calgary billet

Post by nyxcoot »

Have I got the billet for you!

This billet includes:

Inner-city Calgary location with close proximity to all rally events
Parking for your trailer
Your own private beer fridge
Foosball table
Cheesy 80's arcade machine
Bigscreen TV and maximum tunage

This billet was previously enjoyed at last year's rally by Kevin & Kathy and Frank & Kelly (all at the same time).

It comfortably accommodates two people, or four friendly people that don't mind getting cozy.

unless the weather is crap, I'll ride down. I'd like to ride down early enough to visit my grammy and grampa before the meet and greet (on Friday). And early enough to have a bite to eat in Red Deer. I believe Tia is riding down, and would like to leave kind of early too. So...yeah. What works for you red-bike-John?

I'll be driving down with the family. my suggestion is that we all get together and share cell numbers with those that are traveling. If anything were to happen we could have a network or people driving down at different times as support. Just a thought.

If others feel this is a suggestion with merit perhaps a new thread on the members section can be started.

Can leave anytime Friday - if its going to be toasty, then the earlier the happier the ride will be.

Well I'm willing to leave like anytime in the morning, that would be super with me. Do you know Calgary very well John, where are you staying? I dunno how close my grammy is to all the action, so I might need an escort around town. Dunno if you or someone else could help me with that.

I can navigate ok around Calgary - never lived there, but the streets are in a grid pattern like Edmonton, except you have to remember NW/SW, etc. Thought I would just book a motel room somewhere close to party central. Anybody know what would be close?

Hey John,

I'm looking at booking a motel also, but alas I'm waiting for the itinary before I book. Last year most of the action was downtownish around 14th if my memory is right. It might be the same this year. I was going to put a call into Torrie tonight to see if she had any details as she was on the planning crew for Calgary before she ran away to Kelowna. If I get any news I'll post it here.

Of cours but, only if you promise to share your colouring books.

That leaves 2 seats left for anyone else who may need a ride down.

John (redbike) looks like motel is out for me. I was able to get a room with some of the Calgary folks.

hi john and audrey,

looks like i'm going to be staying at nick's. still planning on riding down friday. am o.k. leaving between 8 and 10am. i agree with john that it might be a good idea to head out and do the bulk of the riding while it is still cool. maybe we can discuss details (route, etc) sunday at tra amici?

your thoughts?
